Building on activities and successes of the past years, BEST takes a few steps further within the project BioDiversity.
High flexibility in time and space for working, Shared Leadership, the use of Personas for the recruiting as well es Gender Diversity Workshops for the management and key personnel are success stories in practice. All these measures focus on Gender Diversity so far. Experience shows that it is essential to keep at it in order to achieve equal participation opportunities for employees and eventually increase the diversity in the team of BEST. Diversitec projects enable this continuity and therefore uncover potential action fields.


Therefore, in the BioDiversity project in addition to Gender new dimensions will be analysed and taken into consideration when measures are derived, i.e. age (specifically 20-30 years and 50+) and origin (country, culture). Specific requirements for working life of the abovementioned age groups will be identified to ensure the ability to work for all and a good cooperation between the generations. Measures to achieve more diversity in terms of origin are elaborated. For the first time, ALL employees will become sensitized to Unconscious Bias in a blended learning format (Key Note, online trainings) and learn, how to better avoid unconscious wrong decisions. This awareness-raising and skills enhancement shall contribute to more diversity in our team on the mid- and long-term.
