IEA Bioenergy Task 39 Meeting in Gävle (Schweden)
From 12 to 13 September, the IEA Bioenergy Task 39 meeting was held in Gävle, Sweden. Andrea Sonnleitner from BEST takes over as National Team Leader for Task 39 from Dina Bacovsky (also from BEST).
At the first physical meeting in 3 years, there was a lively exchange of information and discussions with members from Canada, USA, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the EU JRC (Joint Research Centre of the European Commission).
The meeting also included a visit to a PyroCell plant for the production of pyrolysis oil, where sawdust from the sawmill in neighbouring Setra is converted into bio-oil in a fast pyrolysis process. This oil is subsequently converted to fuel in a refinery.
There then followed the Advanced Biofuels Conference in Stockholm, with around 100 attendees. Here, Andrea Sonnleiter presented the Demoplants database and Dina Bacovsky gave insights into the work of the Advanced Motor Fuels TCP. (Foto: Tomas Ekbom)
