Dipl.-Ing. / MSc. thesis Experimental work
Paid Master´s thesis Experimental investigation of secondary charring at multiple scales
This Master’s thesis provides important insights into biochar formation via pyrolysis – the thermal decomposition – of biomass using an experimental approach. Multiple measurement techniques for powders, single particles and entire beds/heaps will be employed, combined and compared. The resulting assessment of (secondary) biochar formation mechanisms will (1) be used for model parametrization at BEST and (2) serve as a guideline for future design decisions relevant to large industries (e.g. iron & steel).
